Drs. Drew and Joya first met in a college program for aspiring dentists. Late-night study sessions and shared flashcards turned into friendship, then love โ sealed with marriage in 2011. Both earned Biology degrees, completed dental school at Meharry Medical College, and finished a joint general practice residency at John D. Dingell VA Medical Center in Detroit.
Today they lead The Lyons League โ mentoring the next generation of dentists while raising their children, Brielle and Andrew D. Lyons III. Their family, faith, and clinical experience fuel one shared mission: practices that are both profitable and deeply meaningful.

Drew grew up in Raleigh, North Carolina, with an entrepreneurial instinct that dental school couldn't quiet. After completing his residency, he felt the pull toward building something of his own โ and he knew from the start he didn't want to do it alone.
"He felt this pull toward entrepreneurship. True to his humble, servant-hearted nature, he listened โ and he knew he couldn't do it alone. So he brought his wife on board."
Together they opened Smile Savvy Cosmetic Dentistry in 2014. Along the way, Drew discovered an unexpected passion for Dental Office Design โ expertise that has opened doors and regularly earns him speaking invitations across the dental industry.

Joya grew up in the suburbs of Detroit, drawn from an early age to science and helping others. That passion carried her through dental school and into Smile Savvy โ where her instinct for care extends well beyond the treatment chair.
Outside the practice, Dr. Joya dedicates her time to S.C.O.R.E., INC., a mentorship program offering academic guidance and financial support to high school girls pursuing careers in STEM. She co-runs the program alongside her sister and mentor, Dr. Janelle Davison, OD.
